Meet the Girls

Dear Reader,

We have kept chickens for three years now. We enjoy their company, personalities, low maintenance, and especially the fresh, flavorful eggs. There are so many benefits to keeping your own chickens. (Who wouldn’t want a pet who also feeds you)? So without further ado, I am pleased to introduce the girls…

Belle, Blondie, Priss, and Saffron.

Saffron was feeling camera shy.

Belle was eager for free range time.

They are waiting for yard time. Mainly so they can demolish what is left of the garden.

Blondie is a bit flighty.

The boys enjoy cuddling them and collecting the eggs.

The coop, and Priss’ rear end.

Their favorite gourd plant to peck around.

I hope you enjoyed the girls at a glance. They really bring us a lot of joy and help to tie us to the land as a reminder of simpler times.
